The best way to create change is to demand it. Email or phone your representatives about these bills. To contact your assemblyperson or senator, use the NJLEG website and select your district.
Attend some of the legislative events to learn more about the bills and aid their passing. Check out The Civic Current to see upcoming events and track the bills in the senate.
Talk to friends and family about the coming bill and contact your representatives together. The voices of many can be powerful to get meaningful change.

Journalism Interns are advised by our Journalism Editor in Chief to produce articles for the Civic Current. Applicants should have an enthusiasm for writing and be willing to be challenged by their peer writers. Applicants must submit a writing sample of their choosing that they feel demonstrates their writing abilities.
Finance Interns are advised by our Finance Leads to secure more funds and manage supply for the organization. Finance Interns will be responsible for doing donor research and should feel comfortable making donor calls.
Tech Interns are advised by our Technology Lead in order to improve the organization’s technical issues and come up with solutions. Interns should have some experience with JavaScript and Python.
Media Interns are advised by our Social Media/Graphic Design Lead and work to create strategies for increasing outreach. Interns will reply to messages through our social media outlets and track trends to advise our team on posting schedules.
Graphic Design Interns are advised by our Social Media/Graphic Design Lead. Graphic Design Interns should be ready to let their artistic side out by creating graphics for our organization. Experience using Adobe Illustrator is preferred. Experience or drive to learn illustration and handwritten type is expected. Applicants should attach samples of their work in their application.
Film Interns are advised by our entire team to create informational videos about our organization’s mission and events. Videos will be viewed through our social media accounts. Interns should have prior experience in film and editing. Applicants are encouraged to include a video they have shot and edited in their application.
Ambassadors are advised by our founder, Kailyn Gore, to create the wave of awareness around civic education and bills NJ S854 and S237. Ambassadors create posts on their personal social media accounts to spread awareness of our organization’s mission. Ambassadors will receive discounts on apparel if they increase outreach.
Policy Interns are responsible for researching bills that align with our mission and will advise our Communications Manager on updates. Policy Interns will work to keep up with political leaders that we’ve worked with and write emails to respective sponsors of new bills. Applicants should have an interest in policy work and feel comfortable speaking over the phone with advisors of political leaders to attain information and schedule meetings.
